Time in Target Range (TTR)
TTR is more important than any one BP reading. It’s the percentage of time your BP remains controlled within a desired level. A higher TTR indicates better BP management over time. Hilo’s insights can help you get there.

Insights that matter
Personalised reports on day-vs-night BP averages, time-in-target-range percentages and more help you and your care team assess health risks, as well as see clear effects of lifestyle choices or medicine.

Frequently asked questions
How does it work?
Hilo is a clinically validated, CE-marked Class IIa medical device for monitoring blood pressure in adults for everyday personal use. It includes two core components that work together:
Hilo Band
The Hilo Band is a wearable that uses optical sensors (photoplethysmography, or PPG) to detect signals from your wrist. It calculates your blood pressure using Pulse Wave Analysis (PWA), following a calibration with Hilo Cuff.
It tracks your blood pressure and heart rate automatically—about 25 times per day—without requiring any action from you. There are no lights or alerts, and it’s designed to be worn continuously, even while sleeping.
Hilo App
The Hilo App syncs with your Hilo Band and gives you access to your data. It shows how your blood pressure changes throughout the day and night, with trends linked to your activity, meals, stress, sleep, and medication. You can also share reports directly from the app with your doctor or family.
Note:
The Hilo Band and Hilo App are not diagnostic tools and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment. Always speak to your doctor about your results and never rely solely on this device for health decisions. How accurate is it?
The Hilo Band is not a simple consumer wearable device. The Hilo Band is a CE Marked Class IIa medical device that has undergone extensive and thorough clinical validation.
Aktiia’s technology powers Hilo and is based on 20 years of research and over 100K users.
While developing the technology used in the Hilo Band, two clinical trials have been conducted that have demonstrated that its accuracy is comparable to that of a regular cuff that you would place on your upper arm. In particular, our medical device has been validated in patients representing the general population, according to the ISO-81060-2 international standard.
