In the peer-reviewed paper “Aktiia cuffless blood pressure monitor yields equivalent daytime blood pressure measurements compared to a 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitor”, published in Hypertension Research (Nature), researchers evaluate the performance of Aktiia’s continuous cuffless monitoring approach.
The study compares 7-day averaged daytime measurements from the Aktiia device with a traditional 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM) in patients undergoing cardiac rehabilitation. Results show no significant differences between the two methods, with strong correlation for both systolic and diastolic readings, indicating that cuffless monitoring can provide comparable daytime blood pressure data.
The findings highlight the potential of continuous, wearable monitoring to complement established clinical methods, offering a more comfortable and practical way to track blood pressure over time.
